The Silent Pillars
There are some people in this world who are always there for everyone. Whether someone is going through a tough time, feeling low, or simply confused, these people are the first to step forward. They listen with patience, offer comfort, share advice, and often put others before themselves. No matter what they’re facing in their own lives, they somehow find the strength to be a pillar for others. But the sad truth is, when these very people need someone, they often find themselves alone.
Let me tell you a small story.
Ravi worked in a bank. He was quiet,
kind, and helpful by nature. Everyone around him relied on him, for help with work, for emotional support, for
small but important things. He never said no. He never turned anyone away. Most
of his colleagues would even describe him as “the strongest one in the room.”
One day, Ravi’s mother suddenly fell seriously ill. He came to work with worry
written all over his face, but he said nothing. He kept doing his duties, kept
responding with a polite smile, even when his heart was heavy. Deep down, he
hoped someone would notice. That someone would ask, “Are you okay?” But no one
did. Everyone was too used to Ravi being okay. No one thought he might need
support too. Ravi continued to be there for others. But every day, he returned
home feeling more and more invisible. The same people who found comfort in him
couldn’t see through his silence. That’s what happens with people like Ravi.
They don’t complain. They don’t cry in front of others. They just quietly
break.
The world often forgets that those who
carry others on their shoulders also get tired. That the ones who make others
laugh might be fighting silent battles. That strength doesn’t mean the absence
of pain. it often means carrying pain without showing it. So, if you know
someone like Ravi, someone who is always available for others, who listens
without judgment, who supports without asking for anything in return, take a
moment and check in on them. Sometimes, just asking, “How are you?” with
genuine care can mean everything. People don’t always need advice or solutions.
They just want to feel seen. To feel like someone notices their silence, their
tired eyes, their forced smiles.
The people who stand for everyone
deserve someone who stands for them too. It’s not a grand gesture that makes
the difference, often it’s the smallest ones that heal the deepest. Don’t wait
for them to fall apart. Don’t assume they’re fine just because they don’t say
otherwise. Behind every strong person, there is a story you haven’t heard.
Behind every helper, there is a heart that needs helping. And behind every
smile, there could be a struggle that’s hidden. Look closely. Listen deeply.
Care enough. Because even the strongest hearts need rest. Even the kindest
souls need comfort. And even the ones who never ask for anything… need someone,
someday, to simply stand for them.
