Letter to My Younger Self

Dear Younger Me,

I hope this letter finds you in the vibrant spirit of youth, full of dreams and boundless energy. As I sit down to pen these words, I can't help but reflect on the incredible journey that awaits you, and I'm eager to share some wisdom that life has taught me along the way.

Above all else, always remember that you're unique, and there's no need to conform to others' expectations. Embrace your authenticity; it's a precious gift that sets you apart. Take pride in the essence of who you are, and do not hesitate to distance yourself from those who fail to recognize and honour your true self as you navigate the journey into adulthood.

Worrying has been a constant companion on your path, but most of the things you worry about won't happen.  Life is unpredictable and dwelling on the "what-ifs" will steal the joy of living in the present moment. Learn to embrace mindfulness and treasure each day.

Your self-worth isn't determined by the opinions of others, as Roosevelt said, "You wouldn't worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do." Keep this in mind and stop seeking validation from everyone you meet. Some souls you encounter will not resonate with your unique melody, and that’s entirely acceptable. Find those who cherish the flames that dance within your heart and love them wholeheartedly.

Forgiveness, my dear, is a potent tool. Practice it swiftly, yet never compromise your stance against mistreatment. Stand firm for your beliefs and hold onto your conviction in the inherent goodness of the world. Dedicate yourself to the noble mission of unveiling and nurturing goodness.

Choose faith over fear. Know that wherever your journey takes you, the Divine power is by your side, and you are never alone. Do not allow fear to deter you from sharing your unique gifts with the world. Transform your pain into wisdom and remain committed to lifelong learning from life's challenges.

Please, never forget that you can overcome the toughest challenges. Life will throw obstacles your way, but you possess a strength and resilience beyond measure. Trust in your abilities, and firmly believe in your potential that you can make a positive impact on both the world and the lives of those around you.

In your journey, you may not always be where you expected, and that's perfectly acceptable. Every odyssey unfolds uniquely, and there is no need to measure your progress with the trails of others. Hold your head high and continue running your own race.

Every new milestone of age often signifies both closure and commencement. Reflect with grace upon your past, honoring the growth it has yielded, but also embrace the evolving perspectives that each year brings. Never shy away from stepping beyond your comfort zone, embracing your imperfections, and being open about your emotions.

Entering a new year of your life might make you question your path but know that you're not alone. It's not the end, and time is not running out. Life will continue to surprise you in unexpected ways. As you age, you'll come to understand that change is often the catalyst for growth. Embrace it as the ever-present force shaping your existence.

The societal pressure to conform to predefined expectations, may feel burdensome. Yet, recognize that your journey is unique, and you should never be rushed into life-altering decisions. Be unafraid to utter the word "no" when necessity dictates, and never allow others to dictate the choices you make.

Expectations, whether self-imposed or imposed by others, can become burdensome. Release the weight of unrealistic expectations, as they often lead to disappointment. Be kind to yourself, prioritize self-care, and Savor life's moments.

Finally, my younger self, treasure this voyage. Embrace life to its fullest, dare to explore, take calculated risks, and relish every moment. Remember, you are exactly where you need to be, and you're progressing remarkably in this remarkable journey called life. Understand that you are cherished, supported, and possess the full capacity to achieve greatness. Continue your journey with unwavering momentum, welcome change with open arms, and find joy in the beauty of each passing moment.

With love and wisdom,

Your Older Self
